Kennebunkport, Maine Dutch Gambrel Home Renovation
This 1900's Gambrel received a major facelift. On the exterior, we replaced two A-frame dormers with a single larger one and replaced all first floor windows. We completely redid the front entrance with a new door and detailed roof overhang. Finally, we finished with new trim and cedar siding. The interior received a new laundry room and interior window trim to match existing style with fresh white paint.

History
The Welby Inn was built in 1900 by Henry Heckman as a spacious Dutch Gambrel. In 1946 the house was purchased by the Howe family who ran "Howe's Guest House" for thirty eight summers. At the end of the Howe's tenancy, the house became the Welby Inn, which was owned by the Knox family. The Welby Inn was a Maine coast bed and breakfast for over twenty years. Since 2004 it has been a private residence.
