Kennebunkport, Maine 18th Century Colonial Home Renovation

In 1745 the Gideon Walker House was recorded as the third building in Kennebunkport in what is known as the village. Over the next one hundred years several sections were added to the original structure which became apparent when connected sheathed walls were uncovered during renovation. The vision of the present owners was to bring much needed natural light into the dining area and kitchen, accomplished by installing a bank of new windows over a run of base cabinets facing south. To create a larger common area a three foot by sixteen foot bank of doors was added in the adjacent dining room opening into the kitchen.
